If You Like Piña Coladas...

If I must say, these cupcakes were delicious! They were a light vanilla cake with Piña Colada icing, made with fresh pineapple! I am definitely making these again as a great summer treat. Maybe I should try strawberry daquari next... And yes it was alcohol free.

Roses are Red... and Yellow, Pink, and Purple

I have now mastered the buttercream rose! You may be able to see tell which color I began with and which I did last, as I made a lot of progression as I continued to practice. This cake was coconut, strawberry-lemon, ans white, with some "topsoil" to help the roses stay lush and lively. I had a lot of fun trying new things that broadened my decorating skills, and I can't wait to try more!

Yes, my cakes are for sale!

In case you were wondering, I do sell cakes, cupcakes and cake pops, and at a reasonable price! All of my cake, icing, and fondant are made from scratch and are all delicious. I make a variety of cake flavors, both traditional and unique. You won't be disappointed.

"I loved the cake Mollie made for me because all of the flavors were distinct and recognizable. The strawberry was my favorite because it was moist and contained fresh strawberries. The fondant had a great texture and color and the icing was used in perfect amounts. The decoration was super cute and professional. There was plenty of cake to go around and is easy to keep through refrigiration if it is not finished on the date of delivery!" -Olivia Kirsch, recent and happy customer

So if you want a cake, cupcakes, or cake pops, let me know! You can message me on facebook or email me at mllkrader@gmail.com as long as you live in Indianapolis (only local, sorry!).

more cupcakes!?

I made these cupcakes tonight on a whim, but they were so fun! The cupcakes are strawberry-raspberry with a lemon filling. I had left-over icing, so I swriled them together to give the cupcaks even more pizzaz.

Sweet 16

Top-front; bottom-back
This cake was made for my friend, Olivia's Sweet 16. It was so much fun to make, but I felt some pressure this time, which was good, because I learned so much! My cake definitely looked a lot better because of it. Baking is truly  a guess and check kind of task, and it's so much more fun that way! Looking things up without trying for yourself takes away from the fun of it, I think, though it can be helpful. I did look things up, however, but more for brainstorming and weighing my options. And there wasn't much room for error, but I think I passed. Now that I have learned new things and can successfully lay fondant on without it ripping, I am ready to take the cakes to a new level! Oh and the three flavors were red velvet, strawberry (with fresh strawberries, of course) and coconut. :)

Cupcakes!?

These cupcakes are chocolate-raspberry, with chocolate icing and a raspberry on top. You're probably wondering why they look kind of funky, and it is because I made them in an IKEA cupcake pan, which is taller and skinnier than a standard cupcake pan. I think the pan makes really cute cupcakes, but theyre not ideal if you like a high icing to cupcake ratio. But yes, the cupcakes were tasty.

just another cake

I just had some fun and got creative with this cake. It was a new flavor- lemon-strawberry and white. The lemon-strawberry cake was really good and a little different. I can't wait to try to make even more unique flavors soon!

My Dogs Get Birthday Cake, Too

This cake is human and animal friendly! I made it for my dog, Sanders' third birthday. It was iced with peanut butter and decorated with animal crackers. My nephew and I enjoyed it as much as my dogs. It was quite delicious.

Heart Cake Pops

I made these cake pops with my friend, Briana. We had a lot of fun and learned a lot about the process, which doesn't always go as planned. We did learn that disco glitter it the coolest thing ever when it comes to baking. The blue and green cake pops are covered in it, and the other one with a glitter that is definitely not as cool. And yes, they are standing in egg cartons, which are actually are pretty convenient.

A Random Cake that I Created

This was just a random cake I made. I had an extra layer of homemade chocolate cake and left-over fondant and icing, so I had fun finding a way to use it up. I gave it to my sister, who is a nurse and had to work this Easter, to share with her coworkers. Nurse appreciation :)

New Year's Cupcakes

These cupcakes took forever to make! But they were definitely worth it. They were really delicious as well as adorable. Some have the ball dropping and others are a clock at midnight. We made the ball out of rice crispies covered in white chocolate and edilbe glitter. The clocks were vanilla wafer cookies covered in white fondant. The confetti lying on the icing was also fondant. Instead of a typical vanilla icing, we substituted almond extract for vanilla. Quite delicious.

Flashback

This cake was made for me by my neighbor for my sixteenth birthday and remains in my memory and the coolest and tastiest cake ever. One tier was red velvet, another strawberry (with fresh strawberries and cream) and the other was marble. It was awesome. And it is partly the reason why I love to bake so much; I want to be able to make someone else to appreciate something the way I did for the cake I was given.

My first cake!

I finally got a blog, which I have been trying to do for a couple months now. I love to bake all kinds of desserts and I have wanted to share them because there's no point in making anything if nobody can see it. Tonight was my dad's 50th birthday get-together. I made a three-layer Neapolitan cake (strawberry and chocolate cake, vanilla frosting), my first one! (I have been making cake pops, cupcakes, and whoopie pies). I covered it in fondant and decorated it with an Ironman theme on the side. There is a swimmer, biker, and runner.
